Branded Apparel Your Employees Will Actually Wear
The logo looked fine in the mockup. You ordered enough for everyone. The uniforms arrived on time, you handed them out at the company meeting, and felt good about it.
Two weeks later and all you seem to hear are complaints. It’s itchy. It doesn’t fit right. Nobody likes the style.
If you’ve ever managed a corporate apparel program, you’ve probably been here before. When it comes to uniforms worth wearing, a good-looking logo is only half the battle.
At Pinnacle Prints & Embroidery, we work with HR managers, operations leads, and corporate teams across Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area to build effective company uniform programs centered around apparel that employees genuinely enjoy wearing. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years, so we know what goes into making a uniform program that works for everyone, every time.

Why Your Employee Uniform Isn’t Working
When an employee is reluctant to put on their uniform every day, it’s usually one of these reasons:
- The fabric feels cheap
A thin, scratchy polo with a stiff collar is not something an employee is going to want to put on voluntarily. If it doesn’t feel good to wear, your employees will definitely notice, no matter how nice the logo looks. - The fit is wrong
A unisex shirt ordered in bulk to cover a wide size range will usually have the opposite intended effect. If the fit isn’t comfortable or flattering, employees won’t want to wear it. - The style is forgettable
The best uniforms are something your team would wear even if it wasn’t required. When the garment itself is worth wearing, the logo comes along for the ride.
The good news is all three of these are solvable – and they don’t necessarily require a bigger budget, just better decisions upfront.
What Makes Your Branded Apparel Worth Wearing
Start With the Garment, Not the Logo
Before you decide on a decoration method, the more important consideration is making sure your employees will want to wear their uniform.
That means looking critically at variables like fabric weight, collar construction, fit options, wearability, and even the specific brand used. If you’re not sure what to choose, or caught between two options, we think ordering a sample before committing to a full run is always worth it. A few dollars per sample can save you from a large order that nobody wants to wear. If you’re in the area, we welcome you to stop by our showroom in the Scottsdale Airpark where you can weigh your options in person.
Pro tip: When employees recognize a familiar brand, it changes how they feel about putting their uniform on. To help you out, we offer apparel from popular brands your employees already know and love, like Nike, Under Armour, Peter Millar, Rhone, and more.
Give People Options
Choosing one style for an entire company rarely works out. From the front office to the warehouse, your employees all have different needs, different environments, and different expectations when it comes to uniforms.
Consider building your uniform program around a few core options, like a performance polo for client-facing staff, a premium button-down for the office team, and a lightweight tee for the warehouse crew. Everyone gets something that fits their role, and your brand stays consistent across all of it.

Pro tip: Before placing your order, consider polling your team on their preferences. Even a simple “pick your favorite” survey can go a long way. You might be surprised by the consensus, and your employees will appreciate having a say in what they wear every day.
Choose the Best Decoration Method
For corporate apparel, embroidery is almost always the right call. A stitched logo has a finish and a weight to it that printed alternatives can’t match. It reads as professional rather than promotional, which matters when employees are wearing your brand in front of clients and customers.
That being said, the garment and decoration method should be well-suited to each other. Embroidery works beautifully on structured fabrics like a polo, but on stretchy performance wear it can distort the fabric and restrict movement (in those cases, a Flex Print will give you a better result). We’ll always let you know which combination works best before anything goes to production.

Managing Your Uniform Program (Without the Headaches)
Getting the first order right is just the tip of the iceberg. The real challenge is maintaining consistency across reorders, new hires, size exchanges, and onboarding kits.
A well-managed uniform program shows its worth in a few key areas:
- Consistent reorders
Making sure your team looks like a team from day one matters more than most people realize. We keep your digitized files and production notes on record to make reordering easy, so your new hire’s uniform fits right in with everyone else’s. - A repeatable process
The best uniform programs have a simple ordering process that doesn’t require you to manage every individual transaction. We’ll help you set something up that runs smoothly in the background, whatever that looks like for your team size and budget. - Predictable timelines
Apparel that arrives late can be a real problem, especially in situations like onboarding, group events, or a company rebrand. We work with you to set realistic timelines and flag any potential issues before they become a problem.
Who We Work With

We’ve helped everyone from small businesses to large, multi-location organizations build a corporate apparel and uniform program suited to their needs.
A few of the situations we see regularly here at Pinnacle:
Growing companies that need their uniform program to scale as they add team members, without sacrificing quality or consistency.
Customer-facing industries where the apparel is part of the brand experience. Think hospitality, healthcare, real estate, or any other industry where your staff’s appearance reflects directly on your business.
Organizations that provide apparel for new hires and want them to feel welcomed and equipped from day one. A thoughtfully built onboarding kit does exactly that.
Established businesses replacing an underperforming uniform program. Wrong sizes, late delivery, or poor quality are all signs that your current uniform program isn’t working for you. If it’s time for an overhaul, we’re happy to be your reset button.
Pro tip: Uniforms don’t have to stop at shirts. Hats, bags, and outerwear can all be practical additions to an employee uniform kit. Check out our guide to building a complete uniform kit for ideas on what to include for your specific team.
Frequently Asked Questions About Corporate Apparel & Uniform Programs
I have a large team. How should I collect their sizes?
For large teams, we recommend creating a simple size form (like a Google Form) and circulating it to your team. Each employee fills out their own size, and once the responses are collected you can submit the full breakdown to us. It makes capturing accurate sizes across your whole team easy and helps avoid exchanges down the line.
Can I see a sample before committing to a full order?
Yes, we can provide samples for review before your order goes into production. You’re also welcome to stop by our showroom in the Scottsdale Airpark to see samples in person. It’s something we recommend to all of our clients, as it’s one of the most effective ways to avoid a large order that doesn’t deliver what you had in mind.
What’s the minimum order quantity?
The minimum order quantity depends on the decoration method. Screen printing and embroidery both start at 12 pieces, though more complex designs may require larger minimums (but we’ll address that during the design review process). For smaller runs (seriously, as few as 1 shirt), Flex Print is your best option at just a $25 minimum.
How does reordering work?
We keep your files on record so reorders are straightforward. When you’re ready to place a new order, have your internal size tracker handy (remember that Google Form we mentioned?) and we’ll help you figure out a timeline and price point.
I don’t have an established uniform program yet. Can you help me set one up?
Yes, we’d love to help you build an established uniform program! From simple reorder schedules to more structured company store solutions, we work with you to create a process that makes managing your uniform program as easy as possible.
